Giudita
Once upon a time, there was in a village an old careless lady, who, even though she was old was not really wise; Every time she was going out of her house she forgot to close the door. One day, after having been to the market she found her door locked up and she didn’t have the keys, therefore, she knocked on the door,
“Bum Bum”
A voice from inside said, “Who is it?”
And the old woman answered, “I am the owner of the house”
The voice inside answered, “And I am the strongest goat you have ever seen, with seven hundred horns on my head, if you don’t leave me alone you will see!!!!”
The old lady got very frightened and ran away and began to cry desperately. She kept running until she met a Pig who said “Why are crying poor old lady?” The lady answered, “I am really sad, I left my house just for a while, and the strongest goat around with seven hundred horns on her head got in and she won’t leave!!!!! And now I don’t know what to do!!!” The Pig said “Don’t worry I will come and help you. I am stronger and bigger than you!”
They both went back to the old lady’s house, and the Pig knocked on the door,
“Bum, bum”
“Who is it?” said the voice inside “I am the Pig, you understand? I am the Pig, so open the door!”
And the goat with a louder voice responded, “And I am the strongest goat you have ever seen, with seven hundred horns on my head, if you don’t leave me alone, you will see!!!!”
At the sound of her voice, the Pig got frightened and ran away, leaving the old lady alone. The old lady, feeling even more desperate than before, began to cry again and wandering in sorrow until she was stopped by a Donkey, who said, “Why are crying poor old lady?”
The lady answered, “I am really sad, I left my house just for a while, and the strongest goat around with seven hundred horns on her head got in and she won’t leave!!!!! She wouldn’t even open the door for the Pig!”The Donkey said “Don’t worry I will come and help you. I am stronger and bigger than you and bigger and stronger than a pig!”
They both went back to the old lady’s house, and the Donkey knocked on the door,
“Bum, bum”
“Who is it?” said the voice inside
“I am a Donkey, you understand? I am Donkey, so open the door!”
And the goat with a louder voice responded, “And I am the strongest goat you have ever seen, with seven hundred horns on my head, if you don’t leave me alone, you will see!!!!”
At the sound of her voice, the Donkey got frightened and ran away, leaving the old lady alone. The old lady began to cry again and wandering in despair until she was stopped by an Ox, who said “Why are crying poor old lady?”
The lady answered, “I am really sad, I left my house just for a while, and the strongest goat around with seven hundred horns on her head got in and she won’t leave!!!!! She wouldn’t even open the door for the Pig or for the Donkey!”The Ox said “Don’t worry I will come and help you.
I am stronger and bigger than you and bigger and stronger than a pig and a donkey!”
So they both went back to the old lady’s house, and the Ox knocked on the door,
“Bum, bum”
“Who is it?” said the voice inside
“I am an Ox, you understand? I am an Ox, so open the door!”
And the goat with a louder voice responded, “And I am the strongest goat you have ever seen, with seven hundred horns on my head, if you don’t leave me alone, you will see!!!!”
At the sound of her voice, the Ox was very frightened and ran away, leaving the old lady alone again. The old lady was now feeling really hopeless and crying and crying desperately without any solution, when she heard a tiny voice say,
“Old lady why are you crying????”
It was a small cricket, and she answered him
“I can’t go in my house anymore!!! The strongest goat around with seven hundred horns she locked herself inside without letting me in!!!”
The cricket responded, saying to the old woman
“Take me with you there, and I will make her open the door!”
The old lady began laughing and answered
“The Pig has tried before you and then the Donkey and finally the Ox….but none of them could open it! How can you do it? You are tall as a small pea!”
Eventually the cricket convinced her to take him with her so together went to the house. The cricket knocked the door,
“Bum, bum” “Who is it?” “I am the owner open the door” said the Cricket “And I am the strongest goat you have ever seen, with seven hundred horns on my head, if you don’t leave me alone you will see!!!!”
At this point the cricket climbed onto the old lady’s shoulder and from a small crack in the door, he could see the goat inside. An absolutely normal goat with no horns!! So the Cricket answered back
“And I am Mister Cricket with seven hundred armours on my chest! If you are so strong come and see me as I am!”
On hearing this, the goat was very frightened and threw open the door, running through it without closing it behind her. And the old lady thanked the small cricket and finally re-entered her house.
